I'm not sure if I told about a Volksdeutsche who was my father's school
friend in Czernowitz, became a Wehrmacht Major, served in Tiraspol,
Transnistria ( where my father was to be tried). He saved our lives by
removing us from the Ghetto and putting us on a train with retreating
Romanian soldiers to Czernowitz two weeks before the Soviets entered it.
