Dear Yossi, Irene, Berti, Cornel, dear friends,
Thank you so much indeed for your precious contribution to this thread. But beyond this, your engagement, your expertise as well as your loyalty to our group are both encouraging and highly appreciated at the same time. Who knows, what will happen 2017 - in strenous times - in Czernowitz and in the surrounding world? What is sure is, that we'll succeed to complete "The Radautz Vital Records Index Database 1857 - 1929"
http://hauster.blogspot.de/2016/12/the-radautz-vital-records-index.html
by adding first the Radautz Death Index Database and then the Radutz Births Index Database, followed by the Vicov and Solca vital records. It's Bruce Reisch, who developed "The Radautz Marriages" search engine and website and made the research so much easier; Lucas Reisch provided php search engine expertise:

The Czernowitz Book Corner will succeed to publish one "new" book per month, among those will be in 2017 "Agora" , the multilingual and extremely rare (1,000 copies) book from the year 1947, where Paul Celan's poems appeared for the very first time:

In addition we are going to publish the listings for Holocaust victims from Czernowitz, as per Jewgenija Finkel's five "Vestnik" books:

Plenty of projects ahead, there is enough to be done. Let me close with Steve Jobs: Let's "stay hungry, stay foolish"! Warmest wishes to all of you and a "Happy New Year"! Said gezunt!

I'm not sure if I told about a Volksdeutsche who was my father's school friend in Czernowitz, became a Wehrmacht Major, served in Tiraspol, Transnistria ( where my father was to be tried). He saved our lives by removing us from the Ghetto and putting us on a train with retreating Romanian soldiers to Czernowitz two weeks before the Soviets entered it.
