Czernowitzers...
The so-called "Repatriation of the Bukovinian Jews", de facto nothing else but a forced displacement, took place after WWII in the years 1944-1946. But what happened to those Jews, who survived the Holocaust but were stranded in Romania? Many of them became "Jews for Sale". Among those Jews were my paternal grandparents too, Marjem and Elias Hauster. 10,673 repatriates, mainly Jews from Northern Bukovina, who crossed the USSR/Romanian border at Siret in March/April 1946, i. e. those Jews who survived Transnistria and the Holocaust, are listed here:
