These guys know how to extort money. I probably appeared to them as a local. Well....I am one, I guess, though on leave for 40 years.
So, having a local person with you is definitely helpful.
I am a member of JewishGen and I agree that that is a better way to get information, if it is available there and you have access when you need it.
