Hi Mimi, Everyone,

For records that have been photographed and indexed in Chernivtsi, you’re
right that you can obtain the location information on JewishGen through
the Online Worldwide Burial Registry
<http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/Cemetery/>. You will get both Parcel
(old system) and Area (new system) locations. But there is no requirement
that you contribute to JewishGen to obtain this information. It’s freely
available, yet I agree with Mimi that it’s a worthwhile cause to support.

Once you have location information, you can use these maps from our Ehpes
site to help find your way:
The “official” map showing Areas:
<http://czernowitz.ehpes.com/newcemetery/cemeterymap/cemetery.html>
The cross-reference map of Areas and Parcels:
<http://czernowitz.ehpes.com/newcemetery/bruce/bruce1.html>

Even with these maps in hand, the cemetery is still difficult to navigate
and lacks good signage.

Hope this helps!

Bruce
