Hi Edgar,
Great post - nice stop in a beautiful city. I was in Kecskemet for a
conference in 2002. The conference was held within the synagogue shown in
your photo. It had been renovated to become a conference center and
library, with a small museum commemorating the Jewish community that had
once been so prominent in Kecskemet. The interior was so modernized that
it was difficult to see the architectural details of the former synagogue,
but the exterior was beautifully maintained. The building stands on the
central square in town, near 2-3 churches.
