Members of a Jewish family in Zaleszczyki, Galicia, Austria (now Ukraine)
had definite connections with Zastavna, Czernowitz and Radautz in Bukovina.
Zastavna, formerly in Kotzman (Kitsman) district, Bukovina, Austria before
WWI and in Cernauti (Chernivtsi) district, Bucovina, Romania between the
Wars, is located 16 miles NNW of Czernowitz (Chernovtsi), both now in
Ukraine. Radautz (Radauti), formerly in Bukovina, Austria and located 31
miles S of Chernivtsi, is now in Suceava County, Bukovina, Romania.
Some family 1880s Radautz birth records were found in the Czernowitz BMD
