Hi survivors and their descendants,
First, I would like to praise publicly Ilana Gordon for her initiative to prepare - and to locate and persuade sponsors for - a docu movie in commemoration of Traian Popovici, thanks to whom some hundred thousand or more descendants of the twenty odd thousands Jews of Czernowitz, whom he saved from expulsion to Transnistria, are still alive. Chapeau!!! And high time.
She already interviewed this week a few of us survivors here in Israel, and will do so shortly in the US.
It reminded me of a very good youth friend, who was my close colleague and friend in the Meisler Kindergarten and School, in the years 1937-9, by the name of Hardy Landmann or Landesmann, if I remember correctly. I lost contact with him later on. Does anybody recall him or know where he is today?
Also looking for my neighbour and very good friend, Moshe (Moris) Auerbach, from Altgasse 7b, who lived in Petah Tikva and I lost contact some years ago.
Both were born around 1933.
