This is to confer my sincere condolences to the Artzi family=3B who just=
lost prematurely the daughter of Itzhak Artzi=3B sister of musician Shl=
omo Artzi=2C Mrs Naava Semel=2C who succumbed to cancer at the age of 63=
=2E Her mother Mimi (Margalit) too was a Holocaust survivor (Auschwitz)=2C=
=C2=A0and passed away only two weeks ago=2E=2E
She was a prolific Hebrew writer=2C who published 16 books=2C plays=2C o=
pera-libretti=2C and screen-plays (many were translated into other langu=
ages and published abroad)=2C focusing on the =22Second Generation=22 in=
Israel=2C Her novel =22And the Rat Laughed=22 was adapted to an opera l=
ibretto in 2005 and ran on The Cameri Theatre stage until 2009=2E=C2=A0
She served on the Board of Governors of Yad Vashem and the Board of Dire=
ctors of =C2=A0Massuah=2E the Institute for Holocaust studies at kibbutz=
Tel Yitzhak
