That's a good question! I'm not really sure where to draw the line, but just assumed that everyone could take it on themselves to nominate people that they thought were notable in some way. The list includes everyone from a bookseller to a tango impresario, from a philanthropist to a founder of Biosophy, from a counterfeiter to a president of the Israel Diamond Exchange. Does anyone have an idea for what the threshold should be?
The only other requirement is that they lived in Czernowitz at one point. There is no line drawn on that, either, which may have caused some of the recent discussion.
