Czernowitzers….
Like Jeanette I never met Cornel. He was, however, my long distance 2nd opinion on things medical. The Website pages that Cornel and I cobbled together back in the early 2000’s represent my first interaction with this man who decades later became my cyber buddy and long distance medical advisor.
Please take a moment to see some extraordinary photos of Cornel’s family and life from the Habsburg days onward. My last conversation with him was just a few short weeks ago by telephone. He seemed just fine — but maybe he wasn’t - I don’t know. He called to find out how I was doing. He was a shining example of a good soul; a mensch; and a friend, and I will miss him.
See the early Cornel photos and some commentary at:

and Later, an album of photos of Cornel’s 2011 family trip to Czernowitz:

RIP Cornel!
Best,
jerome

It's so sad to lose another indomitable original Czernowitzer, one so interesting and so knowledgeable, especially about war time history. I think many of you met Cornel and Marsha during the 2006 reunion in Czernowitz. We will miss him greatly, and may his memory be a blessing.
