bit of a weird question, I guess

My maternal grandfather's Canadian War Record indicated that he was from
Czernowitz, Bukowina with Austria as the country. This War Record was from
1916. He indicated he was born in 1886 and that his father was John and his
mother was Mary Kiebak. I know he originally settled in Saskatchewan,
Canada and, after discharge from the army, he settled in Nova Scotia,
Canada. That, as they say, is that. I know every little else about him;
nor does the family know. We aren't even sure when he immigrated or if he
first arrived in the US or in Canada (that I'm continuing to search).

Grandfather's name was Michael and his last name was Semeniuk, although
there are a couple different spellings of the last name.

I guess my questions are:

Does anyone on this list have the Semeniuk/etc. name in their tree?

If you do have that name (or variation of it) in your tree, have you had
your DNA done?

Would there be birth records available for that time that I can access?

Thank you

Bill Zebedee
