There were Buller (sometimes spelled Buhler) families in both Wiznitz and
Waszkoutz am Cheremosz (Vashkivtsi) dating back in documents to the 18th
and 19th centuries, respectively. According to family lore, my ancestor
Litman Buller had come from Russia and in the mid-19th century was given
the surname Wiznitzer by the Rebbe, and appeared as Litman Wiznitzer along
with other Wiznitzer=E2=80=99s and Bullers in the 1854 Austrian records of =
property
owners and tax payers in Waszkoutz.
