Dear Maurice and Margaret,
I'm sorry, I know nothing about Rabbi Gross. As for my great-grandfather,
he was arrested by the Germans, held briefly at their headquarters (Hotel
Schwarzer Adler) where he was tortured. From the roof of the hotel, they
showed him the synagogue burning. They then took him down to the river
Prut, with other Jewish leaders, and shot him. All of this is retold at
the Eichmann trial by his wife, Perla Mark, my great-grandmother.
I hope someone has information about their address on Herrengasse.
