Hi all:
Ira and Beila POPEL/POPIL had a son named Solomon POPEL/POPIL. He was my
paternal great-grandfather.
The surname has been recorded with POPEL and also POPIL and later POPPEL.
He was born in 1868. Birth registered as living in "commune Dorohoi". In
1890 Solomon is noted as born in Austria and an Austrian subject. He was
living with his parents. Various descendants lived in Cernau=C5=A3i,
Her=C5=A3a, Dorohoi and Panciu and possibly Sadagora. The Czernowitz Death
Record below shows " Ire POPIL" died in 1918. I do not have any information
on Ira or Beila. I do not know if Solomon had siblings. I have information
relating to descendants, but not Solomon's birth family.
