Czernowitzers, dear friends,
Timisoara is entering adolescence as a twin city of Czernowitz:

Timișoara, the historical, economic and cultural center of the Banat Region in Western Romania, has been one of Czernowitz‘s eleven twin cities since 2010; under the impact of Putin's war of aggression on Ukraine, Düsseldorf was the latest to join in March 2022.
One and a half centuries under Ottoman Empire and two centuries under Austro-Hungarian rule have left this morbid charm; charming only for tourists, because the inhabitants have to deal with all kinds of adversities. For example, since the beginning of this year, the prices for heating and water have been doubled and hot water is - nevertheless - rationed. Next year Timisoara will be European Capital of Culture and then everything will be better (last photo), right?
Enjoy, next stop: Sibiu!
