Czernowitzers, dear friends,
Many of you know my good friend Mykola Kuschnir, the Director of the Czernowitz Jewish Museum, whose tireless efforts have provided so much support to so many of us. Now it is time to stand by him, the people of Ukraine and Ukraine's Jewish Community. My blog post also lists a few selected ways to help the people of Ukraine, Czernowitz and Ukraine's Jewish community. I grateful to all our fello members who contacted me with questions, suggestions, ideas. Please understand that I am currently overwhelmed to answer the huge number of messages in detail.
Mike, what you wrote today to us from the UK sums it up and I have no doubt that it applies to all of us:
"The UK Chief Rabbi has composed a special prayer to be read in Shuls this morning. Given that my father was born in Czernowitz, I was given the honour of reciting the prayer. It was a moving moment and I’m pleased to say that there was unanimous support and sympathy in the congregation."
