Despite this fact we were all repatriated to Rumania and given
back our Romanian citizenship Honoris Causa.

I would like to add a curiosity. I was born in Czernowitz , considered as a
Roumanian. 1941 we all became stateless and never re instated as Roumanian
citizen after the war ,except on application.
I have an Australian Passport it states the place of birth Czernowitz/
Bukovina but no Roumania. I often declared I am stateless although, I was
born in Roumania.
My underlaying documents state my place of birth as Roumania. I never
considered or felt myself Roumanian.
