I am searching the names Lecker, Frohlich and Shulman in the town of
Selyatin, near Chernowitz. I know the name Lecker is fairly common in
the area, I find numerous references to Leckers in Alan Gold's book, but
can not attach them to our family, although our Lecker family is very
large, most came to Canada before 1900.
I am looking for any records from the years around 1850-1900 for the
town of Selyatin where my grandfather Avrum Frohlich came from. His
mother was Rachael Shulman. His father Yeshua had a second wife, Etta
Lecker and one child we know of, Rachael Frohlich who immigrated to
Canada about 1918. My grandfather Avrum came over in 1890.
Any information would be helpful
