Hello:
According to the immigration records at EllisIsland.org, my wife's great-grandfather Schmaje KALKSTEIN was born in Sadgura in (approximately) 1890. (At some point before the age of 18, he moved to Stanislau.) When Schmaje came to America in 1908, he went to the New York home of his uncle, Bernard HAGLER. Perhaps HAGLER was Schmaje's mother's maiden name.
Do any of these names ring a bell?
Thanks
Shlomo
