Marc brought up a few good points.
I would like to point out, that according to the Kabbalah of the Ari Z"L,
one uses a two handled cup to wash the hands with. And water is poured 3
times on each hand.

Others use a cup with only one handle. And they might wash 3 times, or
most usually 2 times and sometimes only one time on each hand.

It would be interesting to see the two handled cup motif on a stone, as
this would indicate the person followed the shita of the Ari Z'L and was
probably a chassid.
