It seems that I have struck a right chord with my tentative suggestion.
So far,-
Ruth, Lucca, Mariette, Ellen, Hedwig, Bruce, Fay and Cornel are in
favour of this in principle.I also know of some German-speaking family
and friends who live in Israel and who would probably join us in
Vienna,- I only need to mention it to the and they would jump at it. For
them it is somewhat nearer than for us!
Most of you don't seem to object to Vienna next June. I shall await
further responses, but please let me know a few further bits of
information.
A)How many days do you think such a reunion should last?
B)Should we all stay in one hotel where we can hold some
functions/sessions,-
or should we all look after our own accommodation, but organise a
program to meet up daily?
C)Cost is obviously going to be a factor,- therefore we would need to
look for modest establishments and rather spend our moneys on
the cultural and sightseeing program.
Do you agree?
We have been to Vienna a couple of times and I have contacts there with
the Jewish community. Please let me know your thoughts re what you would
like to do when we get together and I shall contact my friend who is the
International Council of Jewish Women's delegate at the Vienna
UN-Commission on the Status of Women. We are having our ICJW Convention
just prior to then, in May in Montevideo where we shall probably meet up
with a few others as well.
If anyone has more contacts there, or more ideas re this project of
ours, please let me know and then I can put it all together on the list
for feedback.
For us, once we have to go to the Northern hemisphere from Australia, we
may as well go on a round-the-world ticket!Freq. Flyer tickets can be
booked 12 moths in advance, so if anyone needs to have the dates
already, go for the 1st June say,- then stay for as long as you like!
Cheers,
Malvina
Melbourne, Australia.
