Subject: Fw: Birth information Documents , German house number #126

Hi, My name is Michele I live in Canada. I am looking for my family
history, My Grandmother lived at village Revna near the prut river=20
from 1880 to 1903 This town is about 6 miles outside of Czernowitz=20
maybe someone may be able to help me find any information about my=20
family as they sold the land to move to Canada?

Perhaps I have relatives still in the Ukraine-Czernowitz. I have a copy =
of a document that is in old
German that gives me the house address, I have scanned it. This is the =
information about my family that came from Czernowitz perhaps someone =
can give me some ideas on how to find more information on my paternal =
grand mothers, mother name Alexandra Droczok?? She lived and died in =
Czernowitz, (Maybe she was disowned for not marring=20
a Jewish man??) Help! can any one read the name on the marriage document =
is it=20
Droczok? ( her name was never to be mentioned after the new step mother =
took over, so know one alive in the family remembers her name.
>
I believe that my family may have used a false name to leave the=20
country around 1903, picking a common non Jewish name so as not to=20
have problems leaving the area (Skydaniuk) or did the Demeter Skidaniuc =
family=20
take two young girls of Jewish heritage to Canada with Them???

I have found that "Skydaniuk" was a very common name, from=20
a researcher Rus Kos just recently. Today we might use the name "Smith" =
as "Skydaniuk" is the equivalent for the Village Revne then.

Iorena Skedaniuc? (My Gr Grand mother) Born March, 3, 1886=20
Czernowitz-Revna? (10/3 1886) Name used in Canada "Irene" Married name =
"Nicholas"(Said she was Jewish... "alittle bit along time ago". to my =
mother when she was a child) to keep a long story short, I am a =
Practicing Jew, Who would like to find some papers from the old country =
to verify my claims. If you look at the house document under religion it =
has been torn... I have seen the original document by accident I =
believed it said Yudisht any guesses by looking at the first and last =
letter?=20
My aunt who is 75 tore it and told me the branch has been cut off. I =
have been told that this photo copy is all that is left as she was may =
have burned the original.=20

House Document
lists members of the family
starting with Demter his new wife Eudkia? The Step mother!
  Iwan's birth record:
He is my Grand mother Iorena's 1/2 brother.=20
I have other information about him This Information is dated from =
January, 1940, It is in Rumanian? He has a different mother?(Anna =
Sevca)

Iorena Skedaniuc? (My Gr Grand mother) Born March, 3, 1886 - died =
March 15, 1963
Czernowitz-Revna? (10/3 1886) Name used in Canada "Irene" Married name =
"Nicholas"(Nykolajczuk, Nykolaichuk) settled in Edmonton Alberta, owned =
Dominion Bakery in the 20's, but I was told by Aunt that she owed =
Alberta Bakery first , my research shows that it was owned by Shecktor's =
in the 20's, Edmonton Directory shows her as Gainers meats proprietor =
as well. My mother confirms that they knew the Shecktor's but how she is =
un sure??? just a small child herself. Family story is she loaned money =
help start Troot Furriers (Edmonton)=20

Akylina Skedaniuc? Born April 11, 1891 (11/4/1891) Irene's only full =
blood sister=20
Name used in USA "Clara" Married name Wilson, Husband Albert. Clara =
died in California last res San Diego Ca death date June 1978 SS # =
538-09-0074 This information is from USA Social Security Death Index. =
She had little or no contact with Canadian Family.
