Dear Friends:
In my role as moderator, it's my responsibility to keep the posts on
topic. I give a great deal of latitude here, and the many posts on
the reunion have revived interest in this group and created quite a
sense of purpose and friendship among list members.
However, I've heard some frustration among members not planning to be
in Czernowitz next year that the posts are straying off-topic and are
not of great interest. Elaine Kaplan's post is another such example.
She hasn't yet read Mimi Taylor's post on the same subject (which she
will see in a couple of hours when the daily digest arrives), and yet
is suggesting the very same solution.
I agree with Mimi's and Elaine's suggestion. A separate subgroup
should be created to fully develop and discuss plans for the
Czernowitz get-together. I would also suggest that someone in that
subgroup continue to update the main group. As Cornel says, some
others may be on the fence and may still wish to join the group in
Czernowitz. Many of the rest of us will be very interested to hear
about the progress of reunion planning and especially about the
reunion itself once people return home.
Warmest wishes,
Bruce
