Dimitar Vladov recent posted a message to our group seeking
information regarding Herman Bianovici, whose name was engraved on a
prized coffee set in his possession. One of our group members
pointed out that some information about the fate of Mr. Bianovici
could be found on the Yad-Vashem web site. Now, here's the rest of
the story: Someone in our group (I don't know who) put Dimitar in
touch with Liesi Kovacs Morgenstern, grand-daughter of Herman
Bianovici. She wrote to Dimitar that she was "very moved" to hear of
his interest and gave Dimitar some additional facts about her
grandfather's life. She recalled that her grandfather had a large
jewelry and artifacts shop, and that he was the agent for Swiss
watches in Romania.

From the Czernowitz cemetery project, I was able to find images of
tombstones for Abraham Marcus, Elka, and Leon Bianovici. Based on
their dates of death, I suspect that Abraham and Elka were Herman's
parents, and that Leon was a brother that died young. Dimitar
promised to forward these images to Ms. Morgenstern.

Congratulations, Group! This is amazing work and points out just how
valuable our international list has become.

Shana Tova!
