All I can tell you that my grandfather Samuel Glasberg was a lumber baron of
sorts. He was the CEO of Engler and Glasberg Lumber. In the 1930s they had
an office in Tel Aviv and a lumber yard in Yaffo. The Yaffo yard was
destroyed when the Arabs revolted against the British in 1936.
I suspect that the one who stated the timber business was my great
grandfather Engler because he leased the forests from the Ukrainian nobles
or Rumanian land owners. When my grandfather Glasberg, who came from Kuty,
married Engler eldest daughter he was brought into the business.
