Dear Alfred, Dear Czernowitzers,
I STAND CORRECTED. But even though the "Tempel" was set on fire by
the German SS, It is possible that Romania bears legal responsibility,
because the city was at that time under Romanian rule.
I have no accurate or detailed knowledge about who might legally be
obligated to restore and renovate the temple, possibly there is no
such law or entity. Bruce Reisch tells me that over 200 people now subscribe
to the Cz.-List and I was hoping, that if at least some of us would each do
some research, we would have a better basis, on which to discuss what can or
should be done about the "Tempel", cemetery and prayer hall.
Best regards,
Mimi
