Bob and all,

I too am fascinated by how Jews migrated from one part of Europe to
another, for what reasons, and in particular I am interested in the
Haskalah Movement. I am reading a very intersting text at the moment,
written in 1915, by an American Rabbi named Joseph Raison, about precisely
this subject. I commend it to you highly - it is dense with info and very
compelling details. The title is The Haskalah Movement in Russia.
