The situation with the Traian Popovici commemorative plaque
is as follows: The application to the architectural department
of the city needed to include various information.
Dr. Bursuc, the designer and I have now agreed on what this information
should say and I made some further changes to the Ukrainian inscription.
Since they are not willing to call Popovici "mer" (mayor in Ukrainian),
and I did not want the inscription to refer to him as "kerivnikom"
(head of), I suggested that he be referred to as "primar"
(mayor in Romanian and acceptable in Ukrainian, when referring to
a Romanian mayor).
I am waiting to receive from the designer the new altered design and if
I approve of the changed inscription, Dr. Bursuc will submit it to the
architectural committee.
