Dear Gabriele,

I have always been in favor of Mr. Lehaci's efforts to have Traian
Popovici honored in Romania and taught about in the schools.
I have great respect for Mr. Lehaci despite thinking that Romanian
intervention in favor of having the memorial plaque to Popovici
placed in Chernivtsi, is likely to have the effect of permission
to put up the plaque being denied completely.

Please read Abraham Kogan's explanation.

I would like to know why it is assumed by some, that I do not want us
to assist Mr. Lehaci in his endeavour, or that I think that he
does not deserve our, or my respect?
Would some brave soul, please find the passage, in any of my messages,
in which I expressed such opinions?

If I am to be accused directly or indirectly, I want to see the evidence.
