Greetings,

An addendum to my previous email about the celebration of Josef Schmidt's
life. Song no. 1, 4 and 5 are versions of the same song. Ein Lied geht um
die Welt is in German, My Song Goes Round the World is sung in English, and
Il est un chant d'amour is in French. Still, it's enjoyable to hear them
sung in all three languages! I will let you know when I upload each of the
five arias.

The email of which I speak:

Greetings,

Did any of you know that this Sunday, Nov. 16th, will mark the sixty-sixth
anniversary of the passing of the great tenor from Czernowitz Josef Schmidt.
As a celebration of his life, I will be presenting one of his arias every
week for five weeks. This will appear only on my site, The Museum of Family
History.
Here are the arias. I will probably present them alphabetically:

1. Ein Lied geht um die Welt.
2. La donna e mobile.
3. E lucevan le stelle.
4. My Song Goes Round the World.
5. Il est un chant d'amour.

I hope this will please all of you who are fans of Josef Schmidt. The
Schmidt pae can be found at
www.museumoffamilyhistory.com/czernowitz-voices-schmidt.htm. The link for
each song will be at the bottom of the page, changing each week, more or
less each Sunday. The audio will be in mp3 format; each aria will be under
three minutes in length.
This Sunday, sometime during the day, I'll remove the current aria from
Korngold's "Die Tote Stadt" and replace it with Ein Lied geht um die Welt.

Best,
Steven Lasky
