Thanks to all who have thanked me for the work on the plaque.
Greeting and best wishes for the new year to the whole Czernowitz -List.
I join the glass lifters and drink to you all.

What did we drink in Czernowitz?

Vodka? Only for some.
Vermouth? Only those who considered themselves sophisticated.
{I remember a friend of my parents bringing a bottle and saying:
"Wer Mut hat, der trinkt ihn" (the one who has courage drinks it)}
Tokayi? Only for "Kidush"
Vishniak? At every opportunity, even for children.
My mother kept her home-made Vishniak on the top shelf of the
Credenza, but at least once when I was left alone at home,
I managed to get to it, what a "Mechaye"! ( Pleasure in Yiddish,
 from the Hebrew - life giving.)

Nostalgia? YES

Mimi
