Dear Mimi,

With regard to gravestones by Bernard Reder:

An obelisk-like black granite gravestone was erected over the grave of my
mother in 1931 at the Jewish Cemetery in Wiznitz (Vijnita). Reder's name was
on the lower part of the monument. A similar gravestone was erected over my
father's grave in 1939, but I do not recall whether it bore Reder's name.
About 1996 I learned that the cemetery was partially preserved but that my
parents' gravestones were missing. The cemetery caretaker located the upper
parts some distance from the graves but the lower granite sections had
disappeared. I had the upper sections mounted on the graves in 1997, when I
visited Wiznitz, and I get each year a photo from the caretaker. I also have
photos taken before the war.

Regards,

Alfred (Fred) Schneider
