Dear Lois.

"Willachia", as you spelled it, does not appear to be correct. I can think
of two possibilities:

1. They came from Walachia, which was a province in the South of old
Romania, several hundred miles from Bukowina.

2. They came from Willawcze, a shtetl near Waschkoutz close to the border
with Galitzia , in the northern part of Bukowina, now part of Ukraine.

 From the papers you mentioned, you should be able to determine whether they
were considered to be Romanian Jews or Austrian (Austro-Hungarian) Jews, if
they came before World War I. If the latter was the case, they most likely
came from Willawcze.
