Re: The layout for the plaque - my first impression has a problem
with the hat and the border. There is something bourgeois about a
fedora, certainly not heroic. A bare head gives us the man. In this
case, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's motto, "Less is more," seems to be
appropriate. That would apply for the busy border as well. The
impact here comes not from art and decorations but from the text
which tells us what the man did. As for the material, stone or
bronze, whichever will last longest should be the choice.
