In 2003,the first time I revisited Czernowitz, our guide Zoya,
told me that I could reclaim the property of my grandparents.
Despite having deeds and wills pertaining to this property,
I was not interested and did not pursue the matter.
It is quite likely, that Zoya mistook a debate about the return
of property, for an established law.

Josef Zissels, has been trying to get the Ukraine to return
Jewish communal property, such as synagogues and cultural buildings.
He has not been successful. Consider the "Kultusgemeinde" building.
He has been allowed to establish the museum in two or three rooms
of the building, which rightfully should be completely ours.

If we want property to be returned, as has been done in Romania
and Hungary and Poland, we should study, how this was achieved
in those countries.
