RE: [Cz-L] Soviet occupation of Cz

I have a copy of a New York Times article, dated July 21, 1940, which
reports the Soviet occupation of CZ. I will send it to anyone who requests
it. If you subscribe to the NY Times or have access to a good library, you
can also retrieve it from the Times's historical database.

The article is of particular interest to me because the last "mayor" of free
CZ was a "Herr Hitzig," who was probably one of my father's first cousins.
One Israeli cousin of mine said that he was Emil Hitzig's uncle, but Emil
has never confirmed this. The CZ Hitzigs were a very large family. My
grandfather Meier, born in 1869, had 14 siblings.
