Dear former Czernowitzers,
I have hesitated a long time to write you in connection with Popovici's plaque. But I am disgusted by the City government proposal. I am a Romanian and Traian Popovici also. The elimination of his tongue langue represents a dishonor of his memory. I think that Popovici would never agree with this option. Explain to the city council that the plaque is in his honor and not in Ukrainian honor! Popovici was in love with Romanian language and this desire must be respected. Otherwise I'm afraid that your efforts are in vain. At least from Popovici's point of view! To use Ukrainian language instead of Romanian is unacceptable for his honor. He was a fighter for justice, but now you agree with an injustice in his name!!!! Remember the fact that he respected your principles then when he interceted for you. I think that you must make the same thing!I agree with Andy and Jerome in their remarks. Please not give up easily at this delicate problem! With trust Florentin
