Primul monument ridicat de autorita˜t¸ile
sucevene în memoria evreilor care au fost
asasinat¸i în judet¸ în anul 1940 a fost
dezvelit, vineri, în comuna Stroies¸ti, în cadrul
manifesta˜rilor prilejuite de împlinirea a 520 de
ani de atestare documentara˜ a comunei Stroies¸ti
s¸i a satului Zahares¸ti. Init¸iativa a
apart¸inut Prima˜riei Stroies¸ti, primarului Ion
Ba˜it¸an, care a dorit sa˜ marcheze în piatra˜
s¸i marmura˜ locul unde, în iulie 1940, trupe din
regimentul 16 Dorobant¸i, comandate de maiorul
Valeriu Carp au torturat s¸i împus¸cat 36 de
evrei. Îngropat¸i în doua˜ gropi comune, ulterior
au mai putut fi identificat¸i doar Leon Hamer,
Leib Stekel, Ira Lupovici, Nuta Druckman, Moise
Haller, Bartfeld, Herer, Edelstein (mama s¸i
fiica) s¸i dr. Gingold din Vicov. Documentele
istorice arata˜ ca˜ tot¸i au fost torturat¸i
îngrozitor. La ceremonia desfa˜s¸urata˜, vineri,
în cadru restrîns, au participat conducerea
Prima˜riei Stroies¸ti, pres¸edintele
Comunita˜t¸ii Evreilor din Suceava, Sorin Golda,
directorul Complexului Muzeal Bucovina, Emil Ursu
s¸i cât¸iva localnici, printre care s¸i doi
ba˜trâni de peste 80 de ani, Vladimir Fa˜rta˜ies¸
s¸i Ilie Ba˜it¸an, martori oculari la împus¸carea
evreilor.
Pentru cei ucis¸i la Zahares¸ti s¸i pentru
ceilalt¸i evrei asasinat¸i la Costîna,
S¸erba˜ut¸i, Coma˜nes¸ti, Adîncata, Vicov de Sus,
pres¸edintele Comunita˜t¸ii Evreies¸ti, Sorin
