[Cz-L] Czernowitz streets - Holy Trinity Street

I am sure that Berti's interpretation is correct.

"Dreifaltigkeitsgasse" means "Trinity Street". ("Dreifaltigkeit" means
"Trinity" - I only just learnt this today!)

And the Ukrainian for "Trinity" is "Sviata Triytsiya". ("Sviata" means
"holy").

The Dreifaltigkeitsgasse is a gracious street with handsome apartment
blocks. See for example this photo of no. 36, from Edgar Hauster's site:
http://tinyurl.com/8gd3au . Do you know at which number in the street your
grandparents lived?

Re the "Jewish Quarter", I could not unfortunately look at Arthur's photos,
as I could not get the link to work. But remember that by the inter-war
period, the whole city centre was substantially Jewish.
