Czernowitzers...

1. Reinhold Czarny has sent along an excellent scan of a block of 12
600th Anniversary postage stamps. It's on the home page:

2. Reinhold also informs us that the paving slabs on the Herrengasse
put there as part of the Anniversary renovations are coming loose. You
can see pictures of the problem here:

3. Sometime back we received correspondence from a 'helena_k' and
Jozef Markiewicz regarding a project called 'Chernivtsi Memory Traces'
(see

)

Well, Jozef reports that their website is now up and that:
"I'm sending link to our www page: http://www.chernivtsimemory.net.
You can find there some information in English about ongoing
project."

I know some expressed interest in this project so you might want to
check out the website -- it's very nicely done!

5. In August 2008 I posted an entire children's book about the
holocaust written by list member Susanna Raweh and illustrated by her
daughter. This web version of the book is in both Hebrew and English.

In an email to me a few days ago, Susanna says: "... A friend of mine
called me saying that my book is cited in an important psychological
book called 'Grand Parenting Today' by Edna Katzenelson and Amiram
Raviv. And here it is with other three books in the chapter 'Grand
parents tell [about] the Shoah to their Grand Children'. [The authors]
say that [my work] is a delicate and balanced book that introduces the
subject of the Shoah, and gives the opportunity to tell the story of
their own family and their actions, which is not often done by
survivors."

So, for those that didn't see the book the first time around and for
