I must join with Berti on this. Like many others I deplored the poor state
of the infrastructure and general appearance of the city the first time I
came back there in 2001. Therefore it was a pleasant surprise to see what
they have done with the "Mehlplatz" on my second visit in 2005. To my
opinion it looks much better than it looked the last time I saw it in
December1944. With all the many strong reservations I still have have about
the state of other sites like the Jewish cemetery, the Temple, etc.. I must
acknowledge the fact that there are signs of efforts made to improve the
state of the city (especially in the center).
