Yesterday, 30th March, at 8 o'clock in the evening, Radio Moscow
announced that the Red Army had taken the city of Czernowitz by storm
and liberated it.
With tears in my eyes I heard Stalin's, proud conqueror's army order
about the formation of a "Czernowitz Division". The greeting-sounds of
the Kremlin bells
interrupted only by the saluting salves from 220 cannons, was utterly
exciting.
This salute was heard by our whole great motherland. (Moses Rosenkranz).
