RE: [Cz-L] CZ Directory 1936 - What was going on in Czernowitz 1936?

Dear Ervin,

Thank you for your mail. Considering your statement, you are most probably talking about Nuchim Spinner and Menase Trainer, both living on Springbrunnengasse = Ion Creanga street. Out of 242 pages, we are missing 4 pages, which have been torn out from the directory: Her...-Hle... (see row 11839) and Son...-Spr... (see row 27768). Really bad luck!

In order to compensate this, I'm pleased to let you know the - not yet released - data from the 1924/25 and 1927 directories:

1924: Spinner, Nuchim - comerciant - dtr. Tisnelei 28 - Trainer not listed
1927: Spinner, Nuchim - comerciant - str. Cismelei 28 - Trainer not listed

Again, we face the inaccuracies of the Romanian editors, but I believe that the 1927 variant for the street should be correct. However at a first glance I'm not able to identify this street(s). Perhaps our fellow member Marc Goldberger or any other group member could assist?
