Dear professor Schneider,
Thank you very much for your testimony. I'm
just writing an article for a special issue of a periodical, Revue d'histoire de la Shoah, which will be published in 2010. The article focuses on the theme of "Living in Czernowitz during all the war" and I write precisely just now on
these very first days of July, the arrival of the Romanian
and German troops, the mass murders and the arrests, and everything that follows (ghetto, forced labor, etc.), but focusing on those who have managed to stay
during the entire war in the city.
Of course, all new testimonies are welcome, because I know that many people in our group were actually in Czernowitz during the war.
All
memories of that period are of great interest for me, historic events of course, but over all the small details of everyday life or personal anecdotes.
Yours,
Florence Heymann
