Dear All,
Have you ever been to Rome Termini Metro station where hordes of
Gypsies roam the galleries faking brawls ,with you in the center and
after escaping you find out your purse is gone. This is to make the
similarity to the old country complete.
We brag being liguistic wizards : 7-8 languages at least.
In reality we were linguistic invalids : None of the languages we
speak are good enough - far from this.
Except Yiddish where you cant go wrong .
But this is in line with the old Czernowitzer state-of-mind.
Now we in Israel have our new-old language.
We can read the Bible in original. As God spoke to Moses in person
      and read the ten commandments.
But understanding modern Hebrew is different.
It is a language on the move.
We, the old people , are left behind.
Moses woudnt understand much of it.
        Hardly do I.

  Hardy
