If there is glory because of connection to Josef Schmidt I'll tell you my
story, as somebody who met him many times.

My family was living in a village called Moldovitza some 70 Km SW of Cz. The
best friend of my mother was "Frau Dr. Stein" the physicians wife in our
place, who was the sister of Josef Schmidt. He visited his sister many
times, together with his mother, and on some of these visits we had dinner
both families whether at the Steins or in our house. We also made beautiful
excursions in the forests around the village.
I still remember the Steins together with Mrs.Schmidt- which spent the
summers at her daughter- sitting in our Speisesaal and listening to the
concerts of Josef on the radio. Always, on all his concerts he started with
" Guten Abend Mama" and Mrs. Schmidt's eyes were full of tears.
