Hi Shula,
So nice to receive your emails. Can I ask you a question about your
Klinger family connection?
My grandmother had a half sister name Rosi Schachter, we knew as
Tante Rusha (Rosia?). Rosi was the daughter of Leiser Littman
Schachter (my great grandfather) and Chaje Sossi Klinger. Rosi was
born in 1875 so Chaje Sossi was born in the 1850s. (Leiser Littman
Schachter was born in Okupy in 1854, died ca. 1920 Radautz, Bukovina.)
Rosi Schachter married Paul (Pinkas Mordche) Kurtz from Brzezany,
Galicia. He was a musician. Children were Freude Debora (b. 1898),
Tsirel (1899), Leiser (1903), Moses (1904), Simon (1909) and Daisy
(1910). The family emigrated to New York in 1905 and I believe they
lived mostly in Brooklyn.
I know this goes back a long way, but do you know of any connection
to this Klinger family? We lost touch with this branch of my family
in the 1950s or 60s.
Thanks so much!
Bruce
