We called them Pletzalech . Kartoffelpletzalech.
  One advise , if you want to enjoy the flavor , eat them hot.
  Not an hour later , not 30 minutes later. Eat them as they come
  out of the frying pan, crispy amd golden, not too thin not too thick.
    If not , soon they get black and shrink , losing their crispiness .
    If consumed cold they will give you a "Grimenisch"( that is colics of
    the stomach ) and other Krenken.
     And never drink cold water on a stomach full of hot Pletzalech!
