The sidewalk cafes business in Cz. is booming.
On the Herrengasse alone 8 cafes are now in operational.
The name "cafe" is misleading : they are restaurants in all respects.
And this on Herrengasse alone - there are many more around.
I remember tales from tourists from the Soviet era where stray
tourists didnt find a single restaurant in town. There were'nt any.
There were some workers canteens (stolovaya).
Czernowitz was restricted area - out of bounds for tourists.
If some locals read this post - please tell us more about this period.
Arthur too visited Soviet Cz - please give us the story .
